PILOT PROJECTS

If you are unsure of the technical feasibility, or you’re not confident of the business impact from adopting new technology, then pilot projects might be your solution. Instead of going full-fledged and spending time and money on new initiatives, we can develop together with your team a small pilot project to demonstrate key features of the intended system.

Whether you plan to adopt new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Machine Learning, and Big Data processing, or you want to modernize a legacy system, it is highly advisable to get a real life experience on what it takes to implement such solutions before committing a huge amount of resources to them.

Pilot Implementation

Our pilot project process is divided into four simplified phases as follow:

Pilot Definition

At the beginning of our pilot project engagement, we meet with your team and discuss the idea or the system your company intends to execute. Then we put together a detailed scope of work for the pilot project with a clear development plan and expected delivery along with the selected technologies.

Phase Deliverables:
  • Pilot Definition Document
  • Pilot Requirement Specifications
  • Development Plan
  • Pilot RACI Chart
Pilot Development

As soon as we sign the requirements document and agree on the scope, we mobilize resources to start the actual development, coding, and testing. We follow an agile approach where we report the progress iteratively and make required changes in a flexible and rational way. A modern development workflow will be employed and transferred to the client during this phase.

Phase Deliverables:
  • Source Code Repository
  • Technical Documentation
  • Development Environment Document
Pilot Deployment

After we test the developed product internally with our team members, and externally with the client team, we deploy the finished pilot system to the cloud or to client’s data center to allow different decision makers to have a look and judge whether they go for a full-fledged system, or close the pilot at that stage and document all lessons learned throughout the process.

Phase Deliverables:
  • Accessible Running System
  • Deployment Technical Document
Pilot Closing

After successful testing with the client and making sure all pilot requirements were executed, we sign off the pilot delivery document and deliver all source code, design documents, system architecture, workflows and a compiled version of the system if there’s any.

We end the pilot project engagement with a meeting where we present technical challenges, opportunities, processes, and lesson learned. Then, we shift the ball to the client’s management to decide whether to extend the development or to stop at this stage.

Phase Deliverables:

  • All project documents
  • All source code
  • Final project presentation
